Homemade guns among weapons seized in St Andrew raid
Police assigned to the St Andrew Central Division have seized several illegal firearms and dozens of rounds of ammunition during a major operation in the area on Wednesday.
Lawmen say the operation was carried out about 11:50 a.m. on February 26 in the Top Range community.
During the sweep, officers reportedly recovered four homemade firearms and an MK11 .45 semi-automatic pistol fitted with a magazine containing two rounds of .45 ammunition.
In addition, police seized 41 rounds of 12-gauge cartridges, nine 9mm cartridges, one .22 calibre round and one .40 calibre round.
The discovery marks another significant weapons seizure in the division as investigators continue efforts to clamp down on illegal guns.
The Half Way Tree Criminal Investigation Branch is continuing investigations into the find.
