Elderly man killed while crossing road in St Ann

The police are searching for the person responsible for fatally hitting a 74-year-old man while he was crossing the street in St Ann on Monday.

The victim has been identified as Rohan Murray, a security guard from Charlestown in St Mary.

Reports are that about 8 p.m., Murray was attempting to cross Development Road in Ocho Rios when he was hit by a motor car. The driver did not stop.

Murray was assisted to the hospital, where he later died while being treated.

Investigators are urging the driver to surrender to the nearest police station immediately. Anyone with information that may help is being asked to call 876-974-2523, the police 119 number, or the nearest police station.
